Ministry of Labor and skills and is considered to be the best among the five Agricultural and Technical Vocational training institutions found in Ethiopia. Alage ATVT College can significantly contribute towards innovative training programs, enhancing student employability and entrepreneurship, and contribute to a more productive, and sustainable agricultural sector. In addition, the College gives short term skill gap filling trainings which are demand driven based on need assessment done on surrounding communities and across different areas of the country in many training sectors. Currently office of the Training vice Dean manages six Agricultural Training sections. These Training sections include: Animal Health, Animal Science, Natural Resource Management, Plant Science, Irrigation and drainage, and Agricultural Mechanization. In addition, it offers a Continuing Education Program in the evenings. There is the college’s ICT Center equipped with very fast broadband Internet service and a well-organized Registrar serving all departments. Each field of training provides 70% practical experience in various experimental farms and laboratories and 30% theoretical training through lectures and other didactic forums. The training at Alage follows an outcome-based training system where trainees are enrolled from Regional states based on the specific needs of the agricultural offices in each region.
